Carbon nanothermometer (published in Science or Nature): SWCNT filled with Ga2O3.
- Change of Ga column height with temp!
- 0.25 C accuracy, reproducible!
- 50-500 C range!
CNT: pentagon defects; BNNT: square defects.
Possible to make BNNT from CNT by substitution reaction by B2O3+N2. Does not work for SWCNT.
BN nanocables: filling of metals (Fe-Ni alloys) and oxides into the NTs of 30-300 nm diameter. Filled length: several ums!
H uptake: recent research (Dillon) shows that sc. CNTs are better for that task!
